Description
An original drypoint print made by using an unused face shield (remember those!?) to etch a drawing on, from which to make an edition of handmade prints.
The edition number is 30.
The paper measures 16 inches wide x almost 9 inches high or 40.5 x 22 cms and will be sent flat with cardboard and in a cellophane sleeve, or carefully rolled in a postal tube.
It will be sent tracked and signed for delivery and insured in case of loss or damage in transit.
The plastic I used is thin and so quite fragile and needs to be wiped up with ink, the excess removed, and the “printing plate” as it’s called, is then cleaned and wiped carefully for each new print.
To pull a print, I put previously soaked printmaking paper, which I blot between towels to remove any excess water so that it’s damp but not dripping wet, on top of the plate, which I have positioned on an etching press. Each print is truly unique, some darker or slightly bluer than others, for example, depending on how I have prepared the plate.
