Description
This is my third monotype made on my die-cut machine which I bought as a small etching press. It is printed on A4 size Kent printmaking paper, and I used my own handmade stencils to make a layered image. Printed using archival printing inks by Akua and Lawrence Art Supplies.
This listing is for the framed artwork which measures 40 x 31 cms.
This is the second “ghost print” of the first print “Luna 1” available in a separate listing. Ghost prints are so-called because they are prints of the residual ink on the printing plate after pulling the first print. I had already pulled a ghost print of Luna 1, so this image is even fainter but has an almost unfinished quality about it which I often like, sometimes even more than the original print. I darkened the middle ground a little bit with a dark grey Faber Castell archival Indian ink marker, a little pink coloured pencil for the cheek and some real gold leaf to the moon, to give the finished image a bit of shimmer and a focal point. The moons in the two ghost prints actually look more like holes in the sky, since they are in front of the tree, but I like the idea behind that also.
A monotype print is a one-off print that results in a unique image and cannot be made in an edition.
It will be well packaged for transit, and sent insured and signed for delivery.
