Collagraph print using Akua Intaglio inks on 350gsm Hahnemuhle etching paper. This is a beautiful high quality paper and one of my favourites for printing.
Limited Edition of 25.
Printed using an X-Cut machine which serves as a small press.

The image is approximately 5 x 7 inches and the paper size is 7 x 9 inches, so this should fit a standard shop-bought frame.

A collagraph print is made by inking up a collagraph plate which is put through an etching press for each unique print. My collagraph plates are made from recycled cardboard or mountboard which I cut into, sometimes removing the first layer also, to form recesses, which produce a result rather like an etching, as well as adding found materials, such as leaves, paper, etc, which can be inked up like a relief print. Each print is inked up slightly differently and can be hand coloured also, to produce truly varied and unique works of art each time. The delicate nature of the plate means that generally only a small number of prints can be made in an edition, since the plate deteriorates with each pass through the press.

Since the plate has to be inked up, wiped, etc, for each new print, each one varies slightly in tone and finish, producing a unique piece of art each time, and may vary from the one in the picture.

Your print will be sent flat in a cellophane sleeve, and in a hardbacked envelope.
